Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 2 April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Fabwriter(“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Fabwriter is a creative writing tool offered in two modes:

  • Free editor— available without an account. Your work is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage.
  • Dashboard editor — available to registered users. Your work is synced to and stored on our servers, enabling AI assistance, cloud backup, and access from multiple devices.

Features and availability may change at any time without notice.

3. Data Storage & Loss of Data

Free editor: Fabwriterstores all data exclusively in your browser's local storage. We do not back up or store your writing on any server. Your data may be lost if you:

  • Clear your browser cache or cookies
  • Use private / incognito browsing mode
  • Uninstall or reset your browser
  • Use a different browser or device

Dashboard editor (registered users): Your writing data is stored on our servers. While we take reasonable measures to protect and maintain your data, you should regularly use the export feature to keep your own backups. We are not liable for data loss due to service interruptions, account deletion, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Regardless of which version you use, you are responsible for maintaining independent backups of your work by using the export feature.

4. Intellectual Property

All creative content you write using the Service remains your own. We claim no ownership over your writing. The Fabwriter application, name, and associated code are the property of Fabwriter and may not be reproduced without permission.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to create, store, or distribute content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right to terminate access for violations of this policy.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fabwriter and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will update the effective date at the top of this page.
